Aquatrine win utility industry achievement award

The partnership between C2C Services, Kelda Water Services Defence and Veolia Water Nevis known as Aquatrine Suppliers Association (ASA) responsible for keeping Britain’s military personnel supplied with water has smashed its target for reducing water consumption – a staggering 11 years ahead of schedule.

Aquatrine Supplier Association delivers water and wastewater services for Ministry of Defence (MOD) sites across England, Scotland and Wales. The partnership met its Government target to cut water consumption by 25 per cent by the year 2020 in 2009.

On 6th December, Team Aquatrine won the national 2010 Utility Industry Achievement Award for Supply Chain Excellence, with the judges praising the project for bringing together diverse partners. It has built strong relationships and the collaboration brought results more than a decade ahead of schedule by exceeding government sustainability targets - just five years after the government targets were set.

By applying the latest techniques and technologies in leakage detection and repair across the Defence estate, the team has been able to deliver savings equivalent to 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools every day.

Dave Godfrey, General Manager of C2C Services Ltd. stated; "Winning this award is a fantastic achievement for Aquatrine and shows the clear benefit of having industry experts managing the water networks across the MOD estate."
